Cars Birthday Invite

Asa has been planning his birthday party for months, literally.  Now we're finally getting close!  He's hooked on Cars and decided that's what he wanted when Safeway displayed a fantastic Cars cake.
My little buddy's been giving me all the details over and over, "My friends will come over, we'll play upstairs, eat Cars cake and chocolate milk, or something okay??!"  So that's what we're doing!
His ideal guest list includes his cousins in Seattle (in case they're reading this......).
He helped me design his invites today. (I didn't want it to be an exact picture of Lightning McQueen so this is what we came up with!)

Valentine's Printables

I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day. All that pink and red is so cheerful when it's still pretty dreary outside. Love vs. Design has this free Valentine's Printable.  They also have a free "Be My Bridesmaid" printable.  That'd be a fun Valentine to pass out!

Thanks to Vicky I have some business cards coming! She's also working up a new blog design that I'm very excited about.  It should be up and running soon!

Ida's Baby Announcements

I did Ida's announcements through Tiny Prints and they turned out great!  I've admired Tiny Prints' designs for quite awhile and this was the perfect excuse to use them.  They're pricer than a photo collage for sure but they're printed on heavy cardstock with quality envelopes. They're customer service has been fantastic too.  Very prompt. (And no I wasn't asked to do any promotion for them.)
I'm planning on framing one for her room.  Although they have large artwork options for the designs too and I'm really tempted to get a larger version....

Feature Flower: Mini Cymbidium Orchids

Orchids are a great long lasting cut flower.  As long as you keep the water clean and the flowers out of drafts they can live for as long as 4-6 weeks!
Potted orchids are also fantastic since they'll keep re-blooming for you and aren't that hard to care for (but details on that is for another post!).

Nursery Inspirations: Teal/Aqua and Yellow

We've been playing around with paint chips and I'm pretty sure I want to go with a yellow, aqua, and pink accented nursery for the baby girl. We'll see - I'm also in love with some of the grey and pink combos out there! Although I've got to decide realtively soon - we're coming in on the final count down - 13 weeks to go!

Christmas Postcard Design

Here's a sneak peak at the Christmas postcard I designed for us this year.  Whenever something works out in photoshop I get really excited since I don't really know what I'm doing. (Learning by trial and error!)

I made the snowflakes from photoshop (really easy tutorial on that here- I skipped all the background stuff and added some extra styling)  and the font in the bottom right is a free font called Matilde available here.  They're currently off at the printers (overnightprints.com) and then hopefully arriving in mailboxes before Christmas!

Don't forget to enter the giveaway!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
